Hey I lost my Mom last DEC, right before Christmas it can be bad , you just have to think of all you have to live for. With me it was my 4yr old daughter. You are always gonna have disappointment in life , choose to rise above it . Use the life you were given wisely. Peace

most assuredly yes. i drank vodka heavily every night for 8 years - not for depression, but for physical pain issues. it was the only way i could sleep at all. this was the basic equivalent binge drinking. i quit cold turkey, and i do not crave alcohol at all, but even so it took a toll on my body. i have not fully recovered from it, and that was 2.5 years ago. if you are binge drinking because of grief and depression, then yes, it is a form of self destruction. the best cure for lost friends is new friends; if you feel you cannot make new friends, then perhaps you could use some in-depth counselling. i'd tell you to talk to jesus - just talk, thats all. prayer is clinically proven to make a marked difference - even among doctors who are devout athiests.so even if you don't believe in him, go ahead anyway:) but do surround yourself with some new people who dont bring you down. sitting around with your head in a bottle wont fix anything... but you already know that. i know what its like to want to just forget things for a while - but the booze only works for so long. then youre still stuck with all the grief and pain - plus a lovely hangover. talk to somebody.
heck - email me if you want to - i'm pretty fair at listening.

Obviously this is NOT the answer! Physiology speaking drinking too much booze IS bad for you. Kidneys, liver ,etc, can fail. I binge drink and I'm in my late 50's and have been doing it since age 10. But I seem to have a tolerance for it - booze I mean. My family disagrees, so in that sense I am doing suicide.

Stop if you can, and seek help!

It depends on how often the binge alcoholic drinking is being preformed and how often. Sadly, too many people die of alcoholic poisoning.

I don't think so. You probably passed out before you consume enough alcohol to kill yourself. There are probably cheaper ways commiting suicide than spending all of those money to buy alcohol.

Yes. If you are doing that PLEASE reach out for help. Call AA and/.or see a counselor. You may also need to see a Dr. There is nothing so bad that a drink won't make worse. Talk to someone please. Help and understanding is readily available, believe me. All the best to you from a friend!

sounds like you need true friends or someone else close to you to talk with. Not the drinking part.

I am sorry for your loss. We never realize how blessed we are till we lose a loved one.

God bless you

you can say that binge drinking can be a form of suicide. One can drink himself to death if he wants to committ suicide.

It could be a serious form of suicide if someone continues to do this. Please talk to someone or go to a doctor, your life is worth more than you think.

only if you partake in an excessive amount of drinking with the intent of ending your own life, and only if it works (it's not suicide if you don't die)
