I'm exactly in the same situation. I'm 17, 5'2" and 85 pounds (my weight flucutuates between 85-90. depends on what day of the month it is). Girls like us supposed to be 110-115 pounds, and maybe people think we are anorexic. Yes, you/I are underweight, but as long as you're healthy it doesnt matter. I mean yea I'm underweight and pretty skinny, but I have a C cup and a butt (not a big butt but it's not flat).

I live in Taiwan so I know Asian people and 88 pounds for 5'2" is definately underweight. I think you should aim for at least 100 pounds.
Being underweight can affect your health and reproductive ability later in life. I would see a doctor about it.

That is thin even with one who has a tiny Asian frame. But as long as you don't starve yourself, look hagard and have bones sticking out enjoy the way you look in clothes and a bikini.
I am 5'2, with tiny bones and Asian myself and I hit 88 lbs once as an adult. Too thin with sunken face and stick arms and legs. But I did love the 22 inch waist! Perfect for us is 94 to 98lbs. Looks good on TV, in skintight clothes, in person and in a bikini.

Please go and talk to your doctor. If s/he checks your health out as just fine, then that's great. Keep eating healthy (don't pig out on just junk food to increase your weight!) foods and keep your calcium intake up. Enjoy exercising - especially light weight training. With a light bone structure, your future years may include trouble with pregnancy and osteoporosis if you don't keep the weight-bearing and calcium levels up - and these are the critical years to "bank" that kind of health. Enjoy any hobbies or sports - but if your health is precarious, follow doctors orders. I wouldn't take up a hard contact sport regardless of how healthy you turn out to be, however!
Don't let the heavier people in your life tell you that "you ought to consider yoursef lucky" if you are truly feeling uncomfortable. If you are feeling uncomfortably thin due to poor self-image, and your doctor says you're fine, that's an emotional issue (and should also be addressed). Good luck!

Well i'm 16 and 110 pounds. I am very skinny but i'm also fairly tall. I think you are fine. I'm 5'6 so i'm pretty good size. Now if you were my height or taller weighing 88 lbs, that would be scary. But if you are concerned, get a physical form your doctor and see what he thinks about it. I would say you are perfect.

if your under 5 foot tall that might be an ok weight...asians tend to be smaller anyway...you will fill out more when you are an adult or after you have children...well then you should weigh from like 100 to 120...but if you have a really small frame Theres not much you can do...work out...take steroids...eat a lot of protein

You are a bit thin. I'm 95 pounds at 5'2" and I'm 29. I'm also asian. I eat alot myself and lucky for me, I have a high metabolism. You may just have a really high metabolism. Weighing less can cause damage to your health.

Personally, I think you're on the normal range for your height and structure. Asian girls tend to have small structures; so you're fine. But, to make yourself not look so frail, I would recommend gaining weight until you're about 98 lbs. You'll still be skinny, but you'll look good too.
