Taking a few classes on hiphop sounds like easy solution.
You're a dancer; hiphop should be a breeze to learn. Watch how they move the feet/legs - this is the foundation. Then see how they move their center. Arm is continuation of the body. Pluss add some expression on top. That's all there is to any dance.
After your comment:
OK, I see. You don't have to take hiphop if your parents won't let you. I don't think it's that important anyway. But if you're a dancer, you can easily copy what other people do at school dance. I know, it feels totally weird to me too, to dance like that. I get all consious about myself and I have to keep telling myself that I can move way better than most of those kids anyway. Try and go for a dance outing with your friends from a dance studio. This way, you'll be in the right company for starters.

i'm a hip hop dancer and instructor. I pop, lock, and do a splash breakdancing. i'm additionally a conflict dancer. Dont placed on JAZZ clothing or shoes to a HIP HOP classification...i nonetheless dont understand why human beings think of it rather is appropriate or maybe cool. placed on shoes. placed on some loose pants and a tank. with journey you will discover clothing that flatter your dance form. Dont placed on a blouse it is in simple terms too loose through fact you like have the potential to be certain your circulation to boot. for pants i prefer to recommend Adidas sweat pants or loose wind breaker form pants. with regard to the shoes...rather some hip hop dancers are donning mild-weight PUMA shoes. they are so mild and dont squeak. i've got worked with experts that placed on those. just about each and every breakdancer i understand has a pair and that they are those doing the main with their toes.

Let loose. Remember, everyone at that dance is there to have a good time. Nobody is going to be judging you like it's an audition, everyone is going to be dancing and concentrating on their friends or the person or people they're dancing with.

the more you move your arms the harder it is to dance to hip hop if you just go slow and keep it simple like stepping left and right with occasional snapping of the fingers you will get into the music fast and will be on your way.

i was in the same situation....i am also a dancer and have never taken a hip hop class in my life.....my advice is just have fun and dont be afraid to loosen up. no one is judging you..........after a while you will loosen up and it will become second nature....dont feel pressure to "look cool" because if you dont focuse on it, the moves will look and feel more natural. :)
p.s.this advice worked for me so hopefully it will work for you

I wouldn't fret this one, kid. Hip-hop is not music and is therefore not danceable. Concentrate on the dances you are learning and you will be FAR ahead of your peers.
