He's out of his mind.

In World War 2 the greatest generation of Americans fought a war against a Nazi regime more deadly than any Arab terrorist group can ever hope to be.

Young Nazi men were filled with propaganda about America. We helped change their minds about Americans when we brought these German POW's into our country. These foes were gallantly treated by Americans and even today, hold America (their one time sworn enemy) in high regard.

In 1985 while in Germany, I met a veteran of the 10th Panzer Division, who heard me speaking English. He approached, asked if I was an American, and proceeded to tell me of his experiences as a POW in Colorado. He expressed a great respect and admiration for the US. And this from a man who helped wax our butts at Kasserine Pass.

Here's the juice on torture,

#1 they probably don't have the info we want them to have
#2 it demeans us as a people and is counter to every value we hold as Americans and as Christians.
# 3 many of these men/women have been taught to hate us since they were children...told countless lies about us...but once you torture them...now they hate us from first hand experience and will forever be our foes.

You cannot embrace the tools of evil and pretend that you are good....because you are not.

This kind of idea is very dangerous. These people do not understand human rights at all. Of course, we'd all like to stop terrorism in every way possible, but using the profligate methods of the terrorists constitutes a demonstrable rejection of the very principles upon which our civilization is (or ought to be) built! Human rights are not alienable - unless we intend to engage an internecine 200 year struggle with countless millions of insensate fanatics.

Of course, what a lot of people don't realize is that many of the people we have tortured are likely not terrorists as all. That's why they like to use the terms "detainees" and "enemy combatants". We should never lower our standards to the point of torturing another living being, even terrorists. Want to put them on trial and give them captial punishment, fine.

He might as well said that he supports torture.I personally don't care if terrorists get tortured. If i had the chance,i would help. Why are some people even concerned with torturing some filthy terrorist anyway? Our brave soldiers are being killed and all the left can do is whine about some terrorists Koran getting flushed down a toilet.

Some people will find this argument persuasive and true. I think a lot of Americans would say "better them than me." I however cannot and will not vote for him.

Absolutely not to both questions.

Even noble goals cannot be justified by criminal means, especially where there are equally effective legal methods available.

The man seems to me to be a fence sitter. That's like saying "I don't support abortion, but if killing a baby will save the mom, then so be it."

He sounds dangerous to me.

Would liberals finally agree with him when they have their hands tied behind their back, 4 masked lunatics holding them down while another saws their head off with a dull knife?
