Back in the day where the man worked and the wife stayed home, people could afford a home and a car without having the wife work. Now with women working, there is an increase workforce which means lower pay per person because it has to be dividied evenly.

Do you agree with that statement, and what do you think about this?

well in 1982 i know a guy that made 13 dollars an hour. he bought a nice house on a acre lot for 17k. paid 62 cents for a gallon of gas and bought a new car for 4000 dollars. no its not me. in 2005 i bought my house for 111k pay 3.00 per gallon of fuel and bought my new truck for 42k. thats a seven dollars an hour difference. we both work in a factory in iowa. wages have leveled off. but how can we raise them. the basic cost of needs has grown so high heating cost gasoline health cost. but is isnt just us who endure the cost. the companies pay higher fuel and heating and healt cost too. its a dealy circle that we need to break but know this somone is getting ritch off of our crappy economy.

Yes. Without a doubt wages have decreased over the years due to inflation; and I am at a loss as to what to do about it. I am not happy that my wife has to work also just to survive -- we don't have that much debt, so it isn't like we are living outside our means. I have a very good manufacturing job that pays quite well and I still can't do it myself. It's irritating.

There is also the whole dynamic where people think they have to have everything all at once, and that there is something wrong with them if they don't get it. They have the "keep up with the Jones's" syndrome. I'm not saying that's the case for everyone, but a lot of people.

Also, not to get off the subject, but long ago, people went to church, tythed and were able to benefit from the gifts returned to them. Hope that doesn't freak you guys out.
