I think that we would bring Jesus to our time. Maybe we already have? After all, he did disappear from his burial tomb? Maybe we implanted Mary Magdalene to guide Jesus and slip him a little chemical coctail while he was carrying the cross through the streets that would mimic death. Then, once he was placed within the tomb, we would zip him back to our time, to settle, once and for all, who is the true messiah. Would this effectively end all other religions? And if he appeared in the United States instead of the holy land, well, who would be the super nation then? I do not believe that we would use time travel to go to the future. I think we would try to erase the mistakes of our forefathers and go backwards.

Ever read the classic time travel story, A Sound of Thunder...? Or Larry Niven's The Theory and Practice of Time Travel...?

We'd probably change something that should not have been changed, and if we could bet back at all, we would probably spend the rest of our days trying to change it back. If we were LUCKY and were able to change it back the way it was in the first place, we would probably enact bloodthirsty laws to prevent anybody doing it again.

But I think changing the past would bring into play a natural law that would cause the past to resist being changed by making time travel impossible. So, somebody probably already tried it, and failed, and the universe changed so that it can't happen again. Oh, well.

Wouldn't history just repeat it's self? When Jesus walked the earth and performed miracles in front of crowds there were still those who didn't believe and others who did believe and yet didn't follow.

Hi. I don't know why this showed up in science but here goes. I have no name for God. Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Ra... the name is not important. (I know, for Christians it is, for Muslims it is , for Buddhists it is, for Sun worshipers it is, but not for me.) If Jesus appeared in Crawford Texas do you think the Islamic world would care? Or the Buddhists? Or the Sun worshipers? No. They would not. If Mohammad the Prophet showed up in Mecca would those from (pick your name) care? No. Belief is just what it says, belief. Now, if you prayed to, say, Allah would you be happy that the WTC fell? Or that the Space Shuttle broke up over Texas and landed near George W.? Probably. Or if one of the most notoriously corrupt cities got hit hard by a hurricane and was drowned? Probably. Or if the last hurricane to hit us ONLY hit Guantanamo? Probably. Or if... well you either get it or not. Who YOU pray to is absolutely irrelevant. The circumstances around the world dictate whether or not YOUR being of worship is credible or not. Me? I pray, but not to any of your god-names. So what.

..and maybe we went back during Eve's time and disguised ourselves as the snake..knowing pretty well that without the fruit of knowledge we remain naked to this day. It is a possibility. It is also possible that the dinosaur and humanoid remains we find today are creatures of the future we sent back to the past due to overcrowding and maybe in our desire to hide the controversy of rampant bestiality that produced a lot of these crossbreeds we mistook for our pre-evolution ancestors. It is also possible that God created the time machine for us to play around and experiment with freewill. It is indeed a possibility.

Actually, with this, we could change all things but of course it will all be just taken for granted as parts of our history...varied historical versions that is.

This is well thought out. It would be great to do this, and great to change some of the terrible things in our past, such as the wars, diseases, prevention, etc.

Well, according to the 'Grandfather Theorem' we would not do much for fear that we might kill our grandfather. So, I think we would just do cool stuff to make people think!

;-D Have you ever seen a Crop Circle?
