I love Indian Culture, and I have been given the Choice of either going to Japan, or India. But everyone I tell is totally upset by the idea. One even went as far as to say that i will need several vaccination before I go. (I doubt its true, but is it?) IF I were to go, how do Indians take to Americans? Do they hate us, as do the French and Most Europeans? Is it easy to find hotel accomedations? And About how much money should I bring with me to have a very comfortable vacation?

Thank you all for your input!!!

Hi am from India! I would be glad to help u out here.

I have lived n India all my life and think that Indians are beautiful people to live with. We are a very hospitable lot and welcome everyone with open arms.

In fact I just had 2 boys over from Denmark, who stayed with us at home and we all had a lovely time together.

It is very easy to find hotel accomodation in India. The money you need tobring depend upon your idea of a VERY comfortable.

IM me for any further help.

Hope you have a pleasant trip whichever u choose.

I am Indian and I've been to India before. It's true that you do need a vaccination before you go. You can't drink the water there, or you'll get very sick. It's really cool, though. There are lots of great things. You should definatley go! Indians for sure don't hate americans. I'm not sure about the hotel stuff. I'm sure you'll be fine. There are a lot of hotels everywhere. Also, you won't need that much money. One American dollar is equal to about 40 Indian rupees (thier dollars.) Have a great time! Ha! Ha! Take Care!

I recommend that you go. I was there in the 1970s and I still dream about going back. There are some truly beautiful things to see and do, it is an ancient culture and the best food on Earth!

You will find, as an American, that much of the way you are treated depends upon YOU. Compared to other world cultures, many Americans who travel are unbelievably ignorant, rude and arrogant. The individual American usually does FAR MORE to create hostility in person than any national "hostility" against Americans.

(just remember when you are visiting a foreign country and you feel the urge to lecture the people of just how bad their food, poverty, customs, sanitation, English etc is., just remember that the US is the world leader in pornography, racism, crime, violence, drug use, disfunctional families, etc. Many foreign nationals actually know this and when you start to lecture them about what's wrong with THEIR country, well, they have a tendency to start looking around for a rock or a big stick.........)

i am an indian, i have lived there half my life and have also visited so i know how americans feel there
but now i live in US
but it's going to take a while to get use to the conditioin there so pack a lot
and no, indians don't hate you, not even the british
it is easy to find hotels and i have to say bring about $500 for all the expenses because they have great food and shopping areas
(btw, don't order anything super spicy because most people cant handle it, not even me!)
