Yeah, they are very scary and dangerous. Contrary to popular layman belief, they are not holes. lol They're label as holes because the gravitational pull sucks everything within it's grasp into a ball probably no bigger than our moon - maybe much smaller. The adjective 'black' is attached because the gravitational pull is so strong that not even LIGHT can escape it. Hence, you can't see light reflected from it. It appears black - absent light.
Where do black holes come from? They are collapsed stars. When a star dies, it goes through a massive expansion - killing nearly everything in it's system e.g. our solar system. Once it expands to critical mass, it sudden strinks back at an unbelievable rate and force. The event causes a change reaction where everything in the system is sucked into a ball that gains more mass and gravity as more things get sucked into the ball. Eventually objects outside of the system also get sucked in. This is a black hole. And there is no escaping it. But there is a situation where it takes on too much mass and either explodes into a nebula - creating new stars - or it shoots out particles of energy.
What is the plus side? There is a plus side. lol Eventually from this horrible death comes life. Supposedly, black holes eventually become nebulas which create new stars and solar systems like ours. However, eventually all of the matter in the universe which fuels this process will be used up. :-( We'll be on dry. The question is what happens then?

It's fear of the unknown, but also the terror that surrounds the knowledge we have gained. Something so powerful that it can suck in objects beyond our comprehension, and make them completely vanish from seemingly all existence. But that's just the beginning. They can capture light and even bend it. Let's not stop there though. They can also bend space and time. How is that even freakin possible?
It is theorized that before your short and lengthy agonizing death, you will witness both the big bang and the end of the universe. Now that is some scary stuff man!

Science thinks that this happens when a star has no more energy to burn and then it explodes.
The gravitational force from that explosion causes all mater and light to be drawn in.
Since we are still learning about our universe, it may be a few more hundred years before our scientist can find out what happens to a black hole once the energy from gravity has been spent and the space from this exhausted sun returns to normal.
It could be that our universe is to young for this last event to happen and to be identified any time soon.

Black holes are mathematical modulations that were used to explain mysterious x-ray emitting spots in the universe. Nobody knows whether they really exist. According to an easy that I have read on Black holes, you actually can't pass through a balck hole, 'cos the closer you get to the Singularity, the centre of the Black hole, the differecne of gravitational pull on your head and legs will be huge and you will be ripped to halves !!

The first time I learnt about black holes, it scared the hell out of me. The book said it has a very strong gravitation, that if we throw the Everest and the whole Himalayas, their particles will be pulled into it, and will make these giants a lot thinner than a piece of paper.
That is scary.

Don't worry. It is just nature's way of recycling the universe. Otherwise, after 15 or 20 billion years it gets stale.
;-D There are no Black Holes near Earth.

Of course they're scary. You'd be dead before you got close. You'd be stretched and torn to pieces in a process called 'spaghettification'. Time slows down near a black hole as your agony is prolonged.

Yes they are scarey. It is because it's gravitational force is much high and so it attracts everything.Noone knows what can happen inside it.Any impossible can be possible inn it like a rigid object can shrink, time can move like anything and many more.

there's a thought lol. when you think about it...it's like a huge vacuum of gravity that holds things inside, and can't escape
would rather send a probe viewer and let it get trapped. hopefully in the distant cosmos future, Earth and the solars don't get that deal
