Hint: It is a disease. Assume everything else is equal or negligible - your're good health, you enjoy solitude, and you manage your food for a life time.

Close to an answer. Another hint: It's a major killer of people around the earth regardless of ethnicity, age, sex, or sexual orientation. It comes in numerous forms. But you're most likely to be susceptible to this form in space.

Final Hint: Don't name the 'cause', name the disease. For example, bacteria is a 'cause', meningitis would be the illness/disease.

Cancer. The Apollo spacecraft passed through the Van Allen belt quite quickly, so that in the short time they were exposed, the astronauts did not receive a dose of radiation considered dangerous. There is deadly radiation in the Van Allen belts. Van Allen belts are composed of high-energy protons and high-energy electrons. The average radiation dose received by a permanently orbiting person would no-doubt cause them to get cancer.

Assuming all the necessities such as food, water, exercise equipment, medications and hygiene suitable for a long space voyage were present, then human error would be the likely killer.

You're brain would probably explode because there would be no one to change the oxygen tanks. Therefore either suffication or when you're in space you're brain explode, but I'm not sure if it would in this case because you had oxygen before just not enough to survive on now.

You would likely not die of any disease while lost in space, which is pretty much sterile. More than anything, you willl probably die of thirst.

I would die of instant depressurization because I would probably be having too much fun unsupervised.
But wait, why can't I fly it? You didn't say it was broken, If it wasn't, I would fly back to earth, and die of extreme re-entry heat... desease.
