Why, in our society, are we so hung up on how much money we earn, is if somehow that is an indicator of our value as human beings?

Money is a material 'thing'. If we have more 'things' than the next guy, why are we afraid to offend him for having more money than he does? Why are too scared or embarrassed to admit to others how much we have or don't have?

It shouldn't be, but some people are ashamed to be poor. I wouldn't know, but I imagine they might feel insecure knowing another person made much more money.

I'm ashamed of what I make, because I know I should be making alot more, and I have many qualifications.
I don't want people to know how little I'm paid because they start insisting I'm worth more, and wonder why I don't throw in the towel and get a better job.
But there ARE no jobs in my industry.. I've had to take what I can get.
Yes I'm worth ALOT more but it doesn't really make any difference when there aren't any employers prepared to pay more where I live.

Because it is a personal question that really is none of any ones business. Just like asking how your sexual experience was, or when you last went to the bathroom. Mature people don't feel the need to know these things about others.

It sounds to me like you are trying to justify bragging about yourself. You want someone on Yahoo to give you permission to broadcast the fact that you're selfish and self-indulgent.

because it's none of your business if I make more or less than you do. It also adds to the belief of the secretary that does nothing gets paid to give blowjobs.
