Sure. As long as the phone you want to switch to is not locked to another network. As for loosing your settings, that is ok. You can configure them into the new phone. Good luck.

You cannot use a T-Mobile SIM card in a Cingular phone. Carriers lock their phones so you are forced to use their service. You can purchase an unlocked GSM phone and use any SIM card that you want. For a great selection of unlocked phones, go to www.mobileplanet.com.

Yes you can, but some features might not work.

For example, when using Cingular's SIM card in a T-Mobile phone, T-Zones do not work

yes you can do that or you can get all your numbers out of it and on to the new sims card!
