OK I know this is gonna make me sound old but AFI beeting Red Hot Chilli Peppers for best rock video is like Jethro Tull beeting Metallica for the rock grammy. Since when did EMo become rock. Somebody please explain.

AFI is not too bad as far as music goes but to beat the peppers? NO WAY! Goes to prove it's not what you know but who you know.

first of AFI is not all emo....have you ever listened to their old stuff..yeah i didn't think so. Their old stuff is way better trust me..yeah miss murder is emo but the band changes. they change with each album and they don't care what you think. i love the chili's and i wanted them to win too but I'm an AFI fan also and i was going to see a AFI show the next night so I really wanted them to win...
for video of the year....panic! sucks....that's emo...

AFI? Emo...hahaha...that made me giggle. Emo is a sub-branch of rock, if you know you're music history...well, I don't, but I did know that from reading up on emo...*laughs*
But AFI beating the Chili Peppers new stuff? AFI deserved it. AFI against old Chili Peppers? Hell no.

AFI used to be a really good East Bay Hardcore band on nitro records I think, and then they made their music more mainstream but I wouldn't call them an emo band.

i'm emo/goth particular there's a distinction and that i'm a mixture of the two... My dad calls me emish, i'm waiting for that to catch on haha... Emos are great the form rocks alongside with the style in music and clearly emo is created with the help of annoying lives or pasts although, this does not mean we are constantly unhappy and depressed we do smile!!
