Two options.
Recommended: install Firefox from www.getfirefox.com
Other one: update Internet Explorer somewhere on www.microsoft.com

Hmmmmm....Are you running Windows 98? Win 95?

First thing to do....In your browser, hit the help tab, then ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER...This will give yoiu the version of IE you're currently running...If it's 5..x.x or lower, then you need to upgrade to version 6...

You can go to microsoft.com and get version 6...BUT...If you're on a dial-up connection, be prepared to sit there a while...Just to upgrade the browser alone the file is around 6mb....The full upgrade is around 13mb or so...It's the kind of download you would want to start before you go out to dinner or go shopping, since it will still be running when you get back...Or start it before you go to bed...The main thing is when you start this, you don't want to be doing any other surfing, since this wuill just add to the time it takes to get the files done....

I noticed some folks recommended you get IE7...You may not want to do this if your computer is older....IE7 requires a lot of resources, which will REALLY slow down your surfing....

if you mean windows explorer that's updated with the operating system. If you mean Internet explorer then I would suggest ditching it and getting firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ but if you still want to get Internet explorer you can get the release candidate 1 for IE7 at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

correction, it is not ur windows explorer thats old... its ur internet explorer thats old.... go to microsoft downloads page and search for ie7 download.... internet explorer 7 is the most recent explorer... try it its really good. but u need to have windows xp original version installed in your pc....and probably sp2(service pack) as well. if you dont meet the requirements.... you can try the firefox... thats equally good.
