one doctor gave me an impairment of 8% and another 5%. The one of 5% spoke with work comp lawer and now has been against me ever since. Up for settlement hearing and i still need meds. was informed that I can not come back in the future and ask for medical treatment. I was also told that I will give up my rights to sue for more money. Is there anyone out there that has info for me. They are offering $4,000, but what am i to do about my meds. I only take one and that is darvocet and there are having a problem with that. Any info would be appreciated. I haven't worked in 2 years because of my injury. But the doctor that spoke with work comp lawyer tells me to follow the restrictions of the FCE which was done with the recommendations of work comp. I can sit for 1 to 1 1/2 hrs, standing the same. bending cause pain and I don't even try to reach over my head too much.

What state are you from. I know that your work comp doc. will give you a low ppi, this web site will help you http://web.mac.com/wisenash/iWeb/Disability&ImpairmentMedicine/Home.html
Are they offering you too little, dont know but having a back problem myself, I sure understand your delema some will not even see you if your on work comp. Even then, they want to give you an asprin and send you right to work instead of helping cure your problem. I found Dr. Nash on http://www.justanswer.com , you have to pay for your answers, anywhere from 8.00 up depending on your answer, and if you become an expert in one of their cat. you get paid to answer questions. I hope this helps.

Depending on your state, the amount payable by Workman's comp maybe limited. I would first get me a lawyer ( who will collect part of your settlement in the end) to guide me and make sure I don't get screwed over. One thing to remember is this.

Once you settle, its a done deal and you cannot go back for more.

Once you settle, future employers can find out about your Workman's comp claim and may not hire you.

Once you settle, your existing job will be out the window.

these are a few things to look at. I have a nephew who thought it would be good to sue and get all kinds of money for a minor on the job injury. He ended up with about 12 grand, lost his job, and has been flipping burgers at a fast food restaurant ever since because no one in the town or county will hire him with it on his record.

don't take the settlement cause if you do your case will be closed. take the payments instead that way you can still see dr. you should apply for state disability and see what you can get there it might be more then comp. then you will get the help you need. sorry about your pain and it will only get worse with age. the settlement is to get rid of you. take the payments then go to social sevices for the rest if you don't want to go for state disability. you have rights you should get a lawyer.don't let them get over on you. good luck
