Go ahead, get it off your chest! What town is the biggest pain in the azz you know of? Whatever it might be, mean cops, corrupt government, lousy traffic, dirty restaurants, or maybe just a bad experience or two: what town do you hate the most?

I've traveled my country (U.S.) quite a bit, and I can't think of a single obnoxious town. I loved Anchorage, Alaska, but there were a few surly residents and business owners there. I don't hate Anchorage, though. It was quite beautiful in the winter. When I went to New York City, I was a bit intimidated by some of the restaurant people... waitresses who said, "Here's your water, now don't lose it again!" (When someone next to me mistakenly took my glass). But, even those people added to the "charm" of NYC. So, I have to say, for all my travels, I have not yet found an obnoxious town to hate.

Oh wait, I'm not especially fond of Brownsville, TX. It's not the people that bug me, just the locale. Right next to some of the most violent Mexican border towns. Extrememly hot and muggy. City-ish, yet small-town-ish. I wouldn't want to live there. Only reason to go there is to visit a relative who lives there.

A study of politeness in 35 cities by Reader's Digest magazine found that New York is the most courteous city in the world, followed by Zurich and Toronto. The world's rudest cities, according to the survey, are Bombay, Mumbai and Bucharest.

Miami drivers at least have been pegged as the rudest.

I don't necessarily hate any town, if you want to put it that way. However, I've been to Oakland, Cali a few times, and man!!! It's awful. Sorry to anybody who's from there, but the people I've run into in Oakland have been some of the most pessimistic and hopeless folks I've ever been around.
