in preparation for the IUI procedure i had 4 large follicles ready to be released. if all eggs are not fertilized, what happens to the unfertilized eggs?

IUI is intrauterine insemination. semen is inserted directly into the top of the uterus

they will degenerate like other normal foliccles. but if they dont get fertilized , you have to try one more time with IUI and if it wasent successful , there are other options for you like IVF (In vitro fertilization) in which they take the egg and semen and fertilize them in lab environment and then inject them to your uterus.

but dont worry , stress is not good for you at this stage , just relax and think about having your baby .

They are just absorbed.

Dark angel - no... there's only a period if no fertilized eggs implant. If even one implants, the others are just absorbed into the uterus.

they get flushed out like normal. Most likely you will have a period to flush the unfertilized eggs out to make room for the fertilized ones.
