I am 33 weeks along. I didn't notice that my reeese's peanut butter cups had white haze on the top until I ate the last one. Can this cause problems?

The "white haze" is as a result of the chocolate becoming warm, then cooling off. The haze is actually the fats "blooming" out of the mixture. In higher quality chocolates, it can change the taste and texture, but it's not dangerous at all. In lower quality chocolates, you don't really notice, because there's enough other stabilizers and additives to mask any changes. So you're safe.

Chocolate won't go "bad" unless moisture has gotten to it. The white haze I think you're talking about is like oxidation. It means your chocolate is a bit old, but it's not harmful. And as long as you didn't eat an immense amount of them, you'll be okay. Just buy them one package at a time.
If you start to feel nauseaus, or start having diarrhea, then you may have a bit of food poisoning. Call your local nurse hotline and ask if they think you should go to the ER. Chances are you didn't ingest enough to make yourself seriously sick, so you'll feel sick, but you should get over it by tomorrow. As for it harming your baby, I'm sure it'll be okay as well. Just keep drinking lots of fluids to help get it out of your system and keep yourself hydrated.

Nope.. youre fine... I just ate two Rocher whatever they are called chocolate ball like things I found hidden on the bookcase for months and they were 2 months past expiration.... hey, those things are too good to throw away. They were starting to turn a little white... but I am not worried about it... about a month ago, I ate some bad Whitman sampler chocolates. I'm still alive and didn't get sick... my babies still alive... you'll be okay.

I doubt this will cause any problems for you or your baby. When you are pregnant, you and your baby are susceptible to food poisoning, but the risks are usually from eggs, meat, and fish.

A little haze on chocolate is probably not going to cause any harm.

I am sure you are fine... there is no such thing as bad chocolate.. LOL. Most likely it was exposed to heat and that is what caused the haze. Worst case, you might rush to the bathroom once of twice.

actually, your chocolate isn't bad just because it has that white haze. Chocolate has oils in it, and when it gets warm, the oils come up to the surface and settle...causing that haze....

you will be fine!

I doubt it.
You might get an upset stomach, but it shouldn't hurt the baby.

naw, i doubt it'll cause harm to the baby. however, it make you want to vomit once it starts to digest. that couldn't have tasted to good.
