There are two distinct aspects of technology today - one is that with instant world wide communication, there is a real global " truth" that is shared - no one ideology or religious view is safe from the views and opinions of others - or from the real world news from around the world. The other aspect is a global " spam" that allows large corporations and governments to spread information - real or not - instantly to purvey " spin " on anything they wish. I would think that with the advent of the telephone, or the TV, the same process took place, but with the internet, the INCREDIBLE, HUGE, amount of information that is available, outweighs the negative aspects. It is interesting to note that in CHINA, the government illegally "cloaks" addresses, and re-routes searches, for example on GOOGLE, to Chinese GOVERNMENT controlled computers, which has gotten world- wide attention ( negative ) - but on the same token, if anyone NOT living in the U.S. types in google.com, GOOGLE, illegally re-routes the address, using cloaking etc. ( which they say that if customers use, will cause the customers to be instantly banned ), and google sends the .COM to the Google . ( COUNTRY ), say google.UK, or whatever, without informing the user. ... Thus, only information on the " government approved" server of that country is available... so that google is actually part of the miss-information that it outlaws.... ( Use dogpile.com instead! )
The internet is not better or worse than the telephone or Radio or TV, just a lot faster.... All technologies have both good and evil uses, and as they say " you can't stop progress"

Science and Technology change young people's views and values because they are able to see a global perspective from the internet and TV, which gives them an opportunity to question what their family and community would have them believe. Science also teaches that one should always question old beliefs and challenge our notions of what is real. this fosters a willingness to change one's views and gain greater insights about everything, including religion, politics, and family.

scienc and technology are making young people lazy and weak. i am an younger person and i find that even in my job technology has made me lazy. i am an carpenter and my boss tells me stories of when he was younger and they had to carry lumber and set trusses by hand, not verry easy work!! even if we(the crew which consists of seven guys and a big lesbian) want to carry lumber around the jobsight because we need it he insists that he gets his machine to do the heavy lifting. which in turn slows us down because we have to wait for him to start the machine, pick up the lumber, bring it to us which can take a while depending on the grade of the land, and then unload it. in all that time all i do is sit around smoking cigarettes because there isnt anything to do untill i get my lumber. however i dont mind setting trusses with the crane because a thirty foot truss is a little much to handle, eventho it can be done. dont get me wrong with this, there is still a lot of physical labor involved, but not as much as there used to be. instead of hiring someone to break down the lumber piles and bring it to us, which is an good job for a person starting out, now we have people that dont know what there doing on the deck and in our way.

a grunt breaking down a lumber pile gives them enough work to keep them buisy until we can find them something more there skill level to do. thats where most good carpenters came from, grunts. but now there in the way, and screwing things up. i know that you dont learn unless you do, but if there is too much to learn in one period of time, it kinda erases what they have already learned. we have a period of a month before they get to do that same thing again, and by then they have forgotten. now that i have compleetly veered off course, do you want younger people.

insted of going out and playing kids are sitting at computers and video games and television and it is making them fat and lazy. i had an nintendo whin growing up and the dang thing never got played with. i didnt watch much television either. i was out running the streets, having fun with friends and getting into trouble like a good kid should. but not kids now, little jimmy jimmy gets bored and he sits on his fat *** and plays his x-box untill time for dinner, after dinner where does he go, right back to the video games. another thing, i never got a ride from my parents. i walked to school, rain, snow or sun, i walked to my friends houses. and even through high school, when there was a bus i could ride, i still walked. why? because it kept me from being lazy, it kept me in good health. i rarely was sick as a child and i blame it on all the walking and excersise i got as a child. there was no a.d.d. or a.d.h.d. why? because i was out burning all my energy up doing kid stuff.

i notice that parents are more willing to keep there kids inside all the time, where its safe from strangers, doped up infront of the television getting fatter by the day rather than boot them outside and tell them to play. but what about the sick people that take kids and do sick **** to them, it still happens!!! kids have been taken from front yards without anyone knowing.

i guess that a few hours infront of the television saturday morning or playing a game for a little while after their homework is done isnt bad but these are not babysitters. kids need excersise, which they wont get from technology.
