My favorite "last words" are those that general John Sedgwick said at the Battle of Spotsylvania. He was trying to rally his troops, so he rode his horse out in front of them, pointed his sword defiantly at the Confederate troops across the battlefield, and said: "Don't worry, boys...they couldn't hit an elephant at this dis...." and then toppled backwards off his horse, killed by a rebel bullet through his head.
And, of course, there's the famous "Redneck" last words:
"Hey, y'all...watch this!"
