Anybody would be mad if their favourite team lost at a world-known tournament, but the rivalry is a big thing in forums and not in real life. People know that it's just a sport, but people like to fuel the fire to have something to talk about. As long as people keep the fire going, the fued will never stop.

Maybe not a vendetta but definitely a long term slanging match. What started out as friendly banter between some, escalated as others became involved and then got quite serious and personal. Some though have made huge efforts to be respectful to each other and that is good to see. We do not really know each other on here and I guess we read into responses at times what we want to. The WC often has us think with our hearts and not always our heads. Earlier today there was a really nice post congratulating France on their win and Italian supporters responded with congratulatory comments and French fans thanked them. It shouldn't matter who started what anymore. What matters is that there was a genuine effort to have some peace and sportsmanship shown toward each other on the forum, so I hope that gesture and feeling continues and ends the bitterness and we can appreciate the good in each other again.

Cause I think its believable to say France lost because Zidane was sent off for reacting against Materazzi.
Some France fans are gutted because they believe Italy didn't win it fairly. France always looked the more threatening and industrious going forward.
It will last till Euro or the next World Cup. Even when fans start to forget it, I'm sure the commentators will bring it up everynow and then when the 2 sides meet.

It'll last until some certain people here learn the definition of maturity and start acting on it.
Yeah, I'll admit that I'm not a French fan and have said some things but those comments were mostly directed at people here. I think the actual team played very well and as I did earlied I commend them on their victory. It'll be nice once their fans here grow up.

I personally think that the French have started it..why would the Italians want to start any vendetta when we have the Trophy in Rome..As for when it's going to end I'd say never because their never going to win The World Cup again.

I would hope not because a vendetta is usually very destructive and amounts to nothing but bad blood between the rivals.
But from time to time someone will attack Zidane's image, then I 'll have no choice but to defend his honor, nif...
