Monumental? That word has implications. The "best" concert I ever saw was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I've seen some acts who are getting up there in years - some still have it and some don't. Bruce does. He played for about 2 1/2 hours. There was one point about an hour and a half into the show where they did in order "Youngstown", "Murder Inc.", and "Badlands". He tore the roof off. Anybody else in the world could have laid their guitar down on the stage and walked off, but now him. I felt like as a fan I couldn't keep up with him - my hands were sore from clapping, throat sore from singing, feet sore from dancing. Great show.

"Monumental" I think might be the Monsters of Rock tour at Giants Stadium, summer of 1987...

Kingdom Come
Dokken
Metallica
The Scorpions
Van Halen

I'm not sure what you're looking for when you use the term, monumental. I have seen 100's of concerts, if you want to count shows in bars, clubs, etc... The largest show I ever saw was called The Roundup in Philadelphia in, I think, 1983. It was a southern rock show featuring the Allman Brothers Band, The Outlaws, .38 Special, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, and 2 other bands that escape my memory at the moment. I've seen B.B. King, Muddy Waters, James Cotton, Albert Lee and Willie Dixon in bars. I've seen Stevie Ray Vaughn for free at an outdoor concert at a local college. There has been Deep Purple, 3 times, in Toronto, Rochester, and Buffalo. I've seen Charlie Daniels 5 times all together! I've seen Frank Zappa, Black Sabbath, KISS, Garth Brooks, Metallica, Rainbow, George Strait, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, RUSH, Jefferson Starship, David Bowie, Bob Seger, Robert Plant, STYX, Foreigner, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Scorpions, and Eric Clapton. Throw in ZZ Top, Ozzy, The Black Crowes, Teenage Head, UFO, The Plasmatics, Motorhead, and Meatloaf. Add in countless acts that most people haven't heard of and shows that I can't even think of at the moment. I have seen all of these acts in every venue possible, from bars and clubs to halls and stadiums to college quads and gyms. Many of them were monumental for any given reason. Many I saw only once, several I saw more than once. Bottom line, I've seen too many shows to pick just one.

I saw Kenny Chesney at Neyland stadium in knox, TN. Opening acts were.... Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Uncle Kracker, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, and Peyton Manning came out on stage and sang "Back Where I Come From" with Kenny Chesney. It was the best concert I have ever been to. It lasted 8 hours.

I seen Pink Floyd in 1987, albeit without Roger Waters, but they had just cut Momentary Lapse of Reason and that was there 1st album in YEARS. SO...We sat close to the stage just by luck because back in those days you could camp overnite and be the 1st in line, no number drawings when buying tickets. All the props, the Pig, the bed, the Wall characters, and the orchestra and backup singers, it was surreal, unbelievable and the most entertaining and emotional show I have ever seen. It was awesome. Great Question, thinking back to that moment, Im getting goosebumps!
