No you do not need to be a Mormon, but you DO have to live by their standards while you are there...
Many of the female students are married and have children, just like in many other Major Universities...
If you are going there to look for a wife, be warned that many of the single Mormon women are looking for a husband that can get married in the Temple.

As others have indicated, you do not need to be a member of the church to attend BYU. Currently, 2% of BYU students are from other faiths. 26% of the student population is married.

According to Wikipedia, 99% of BYU's students are Mormon. Non-Mormons can attend (excluding Mormons who have left the church); further, all students must sign a document confirming that they are active in an organized religion. Further, all students must adhere to a fairly strict honor code.

No, you do not have to be LDS to go to school there. But you do have to be an excellent student. It is very difficult to get into school at BYU. Since the LDS Faith believes in family so much, of course you're going to have lots of students who are married, or may even have a kid while they are still in school. But look at it this way.... at least they are married. How many college kids out there that have kids are unwed? Lots.

no, you don't have to be a mormon to go to BYU, or any of the BYU schools. I Go to BYU-Idaho and there is a growing number of Jewish people coming here, becuase it's such a great school. As of married studentsm i don't know, but my guess about a 1/3.
