Well my friends and I are planning to build a fort in the forest the problem is, its not our land. Who do we ask to find out. There is a field besid the forest and a road and a couple houses there do I ask them, who do I ask?

Go to a Title Insurance Company and get a Property Profile.

You can go to the county clerk and find out. They will be able to tell you who owns the land, and may be able to help you get in touch with them.

Property ownership is a matter of public record - see your city or county government offices.

Get a land plat of the area at the court house and see who owns it...contact them...and when they say "no", build it anyways.
