my father was an out of town truck driver and i was more of mommas boy growing up so when the marriage finally hit the last strings i was about 11 knowing what or who my father was about i personally think it was a good thing i wasnt raised by him as he was a lying manipulative womanizer who frequently cheated and didnt take care of his family. i say this knowing how the divorce effected my older brother and younger sister they both have scars from it and both have major issues as an adult dealing with his walking out and not coming back. i think its to each his own every child does not have the same effect and cant be asked in such a broad question becuase each situation has its own complexities. as far as me i was shelterd and untill i asked questions my family just let me be bliss and continue my being a momma boy. i now have a deep passtion to be more like a man with my children and to be there as much as i possibly can to be a real dad and to be a real man.......

3 1/2 ; I didn't actually know everything until I was 13. I'm still trying to deal with it. For only TWO YEARS have I known the real story. Isn't that sad???
My mom and I talk about it alot, but my dad and I have NEVER discussed it. It was very difficult for me as a child and not knowing why I couldn't go see daddy. But now I understand why.
It's heartbreaking, really.

I was 10 when my parents divorced...my way of dealing were my friends. They are still my friends, even to this day.

I was 12, and I just talked with other friends about it. Talking to friends whos parents have been divorced for a while helps too because they can relate and understand what you're going through. Hope I've helped and good luck with this.

God bless.

I was 3. I don't really remember much... just spending time sometimes at mom's house and sometimes at dad's house. Try to understand that divorce is never the kids fault.

I was 21 and wished it had happened when my brother and I were much younger. My dad stayed with my mom for us, to make sure we got through high school and didn't have to deal with the piece of trash that my mother picked to be with.

I was 9 years old. It was very hard. Mom put me and my sister in counseling. That helped alot because my parents were going through alot and I did not want to bother them and I also seemed more open to someone i didn't know. Keep you head up it will get better.
