...then why do some people say that "black music" is bad or sucks or whatever?
if rock was invented by blacks, doesnt it all come from the same root?

Because people are stupid.
Black people inspired rock, white people invented it. But it would not have happened without blacks.
Ever hear those lyrics from Muddy Waters, the Blues Had a Baby and they called it Rock N Roll!

I love black music, Jazz, Blues, old Gospel and Soul.
Today's black music is brutal though (same for all others), rap, that phoney light R&B crap that is copied by Justin Timberlake and other miserable singers. Like that horrible stuff most of the singers on American Idol attempt to do.

Rock music was not invented by african americans. Rock music came out of what african americans were doing with the blues. I don't get why people say black music sucks either. Did Hendrix suck? BB King? The drummer from The Dave Mathews Band? I think not. They are all great musicians. Blacks in general are. The problem is, rap music is being digitally generated, none of the instruments are recorded....its all a machine.

This sounds like your trying to pull the race-card to garner sympathy or something.

While I'm not one to call rap and hip-hop "black music," (or to call rock/metal "white music") which is probably what you mean, the connotation is simply that, how many black rock bands are there today?

Not sure "blacks invented rock". I think rock evolved from both blues and folk music. Both blacks and whites started playing rock (ie. Chuck Berry, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddly, Buddy Holly, etc) at its inception. I wouldn't classify rock as "black music".

Your theory relies on the fact that everyone likes rock music. If I don't like rock music and I believe rock music is "black music" (which you also need to prove) then that would be a reason for me not to like "black music." You are also attributing likeness for and hatred of a genre of music to race. I don't personally know anyone who dislikes any pone type of music based on which race supposedly created it. I would assume those peoples' arguments are invalid as they are judging the music based on race (which music does not have) instead of on the music itself.
