If someone said "the roots of Jazz come from African-American culture," would you be proud, or just note this as a fact?

Similarly, if someone said, "the greatest percentage by population of unwed mothers is among African-Americans." would you be angry, or just note this as a fact?

Is there a difference? If there is, I am curious as to why.

Cindy Loo,

You're not of African descent, unless you are claiming LONG origins. This question isn't for you, nor do I care about your response.

The greatest unwanted pregnancy occurs in young girls, not nessesarily among blacks. Jazz and Blues, not to mention Rock have their roots with black artists who rarely recieved recognition for their gifts. Southern cooks, black slaves, invented southern cuisine, my favorite and soul food.
Not black but glad to have all these things around.

the difference is because jazz is created as musical expression, whereas unwed motherhood is mostly a product of poverty. it's not an expression of creativity. it's the result of most blacks being poor from centuries of oppression, living in segregated neighborhoods that received less funding and slavery. creating jazz is something to be proud of, while unwed motherhood is something to lament.

There is something wrong with you to be so ignorant, intolerant, and rude.
In the future please keep your idiocy under wraps so the rest of us in here to do fun polls and surveys don't have to be assulted by your insanity.
