All nationalities are present. However the majority are white. The second largest group is native alaskan. Then hispanic, then black, then indian (asian indian), then asian/pacific islander.
I lived there for 16 years. All are welcome. However, the basic societal structure there is VERY different from the rest of the USA. In Alaska, you are only as good as your word. Your family doesn't matter, your crimes don't matter. If you keep your promises and remain independant, you are respected. The people ARE resistant to many types of change. They believe firmly in their fundamental freedoms and are NOT willing to give them up.

iritadragon is right.
I grew up there and I have never found another place like it on earth.
I lived in Juneau and the main groups were the whites, the Native Americans, and the Fillipinos. There were smaller groups of Hispanics, other Asians, and Blacks. All groups were tolerant of the others. People seemed to like and hate others on an individual basis, not based on ethnicity.
People are very tolerant of others. Growing up, I thought everywhere had mixed couples. When I got to the midwest, I couldn't get over the fact that people were staring at me because I was walking with a black female acquaintance of mine.
