Here is what it would cost to feed a family of four, with two children age 6 to 11, in 18 Alaska cities and towns.
For comparison, the same groceries would cost $94 in Portland, Ore., a commonly used comparison city where transportation costs are much lower.

minimum wage is around the 7.00 range and everything is very expensive there but the best place to live unfortunately is archange as that is where all the businesses are at. so hope that helps do a google on alaska and you will find more of the info out on the area you want to live in.

dont know much about this...but i do know if you live there for a certen amount of time you get money from taxes for the oil that they take...
