It is just too bad that I do not have you as a customer. If I did, and you tried to push-start an automatic transmission, I could vacation in Maui.

It is that expensive

Vehicle with auto transmission cannot be manual pushing to jump start, you need a booster or spare batteries to start the engine. Why ? because the auto trans need a certain amount of oil pressure in the gear box to operate its gears trains. Using manual pushing is not enough to generate the oil pressure in the gear box. In some of the advance model(e.g BMW and Mer), you need to change a new battery to start the engine with fully computerised auto transmission. Even you jump start the engine, the vehicle will fail to move because of low amps in the battery.

yes in the older cars where the trans had a rear pump you could push start them good luck with those cars they are like pushing a boulder up a hill but todays cars you will not find that quit leaving you lights on and the batt. will stay up

You can still start it if you connect the battery to another car.
