Pi not Pie -- sorry I can't make the pi symbolwith the computer.

Pi =3.41592......
Radius is R and is squared (raised to the 2nd power)
Pi and radius squared are multipled
Area of a circle = Pi(Rsquared)

A=π*r^2, where A=area and r^2 is r*r or r squared. You stated it correctly in English, and that is half the battle...all you need to do is write it down in the language of math and then you've got it!

The formula for finding the area of a circle would be πR² if you are given the radius.
It would be: πd²/4 if you are given the diameter.
It would be: C²/4π if you are given the circumference.
