factor the GCF which is 4

4(x^2+x-1)

Thats all you can do to it because if you try to use (x-1)(x+1), when you foil, the middle term becomes 0. If you're solving for x, I'd try the quadratic equation

4x^2+4x-4
Factor out a 4

4(x^2+x-1)
This is as factored as you can get this polynomial. Nothing will multiply to -1 and add to 1.

Sorry, but I hope this helps.

take the 4 outside to get 4(x^2 +x - 4)
that's it.
so the two factors are 4 and (x^2 +x -4)

4(x^2+X-1)
thats the answer

remember: (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
(a -b)^ 2= a^2 - 2ab+ b^2
a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)
