I myself can attest to the effectiveness of the McAfee Antivirus suite. As an added protection, I also run Spybot search and destroy.

McAfee is probably the worst antivirus software currently available. Occasionally it will find viruses, but it is terrible at deleting them. It also installs unwanted software like McAfee Security Suite, a program that tells you your computer won't be secure until you own every McAfee product on the planet. Much like Norton, it will slow your computer to a crawl.

I strongly recommend you try Avast Antivirus available at www.avast.com. It is completely free and much better than McAfee or Norton. AVG is also pretty good as another person mentioned.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

McAfee and Norton are the worst ones right now. They suck and I highly recommend against them. Get rid of them and DO NOT buy them. Uninstall them and get AVG here

it is cheaper, a lot faster, and catch viruses that Norton and McAfee cannot.

Symantec AntiVirus (Norton) is highly regarded in the business world and used by a majority of all the Universities out there. If you can find a copy of the corporate edition you don't have to worry about subscriptions to updates.

Symantec does an EXCELLENT job of keeping their definitions constantly up to date and they have an international team of bug catchers.

I use TrendMicro. You have to be careful using virus scans - much are viruses in themselves....
