In keeping with the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, all energy transfers are sloppy. This means that a great deal more energy must be put into something before you can hope to get even a minuscule percentage of that energy back. Because lipids contain such a high amount of energy that serves a wide degree of functions (they are used to power both biomechanics and automobiles), this implies that an even greater amount of highly specialized energy must first go into its production.
Considering that lipids are a biomolecule, produced only by living or dead organisms (right?), and are also essential for the survival of all living organisms, how could they be produced by non-biological means? Are there any theories? Any experiments? I am very familiar with the Urey-Miller experiment, but that only seems to apply to very basic, unshaped amino acids in an unusable ratio and under impossible circumstances. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The same way that the exact linear sequence of DNA spontaneously appeared (without any help from proteins, since there was no DNA to code for proteins yet) that coded for all of the genes/proteins necessary for self-replication
AND the complementary strand appeared to stabilize the first strand

AND the exact amino acid sequence for RNA polymerase spontaneously appeared. (DNA by itself is worthless. Therefore, for abiogenesis to occur, one must not only have a specific DNA or RNA molecule, but also a very specific protein molecule.)

AND ribosomes spontaneously appeared
AND the tRNA molecules needed for life happened to appear
AND any ATP or other energy molecules necessary appeared

AND all of the above happened to appear within a few microns of each other to be in close enough proximity to interact (almost necessitating a cell membrane)

AND all of the above happened to appear within a very, very short time span, as all of the above molecules are subject to degradation if left exposed to the elements.

AND the DNA just happened to carry a code 1000s of base-pairs long that just so happened to be the exact code for all of the proteins that are necessary to replicate the whole process above.

properly hearth suits all categories of existence would not it? perhaps each little thing that became needed became interior the molten center that sprang upwards while the preliminary enormous earthquake occurred. and don't ignore Lightning became working rampid on earth's close to beginning, some thing with regard to the stabilization of the geomagnet some thing or yet another. they say lightning would not strike two times interior the comparable place, yet i understand for a actuality that the comparable theater I artwork at has been hit by ability of lightning 5 situations interior the final 5 years.... yet however...it would desire to be obtainable that David Blaine and David Copperfield have been given at the same time and disappeared back in time and at the same time they coellessed their magic skills and exploded right into a fireyball of ability. they might have solved all our problems....creation of existence...and them disappearing for one final very final trick that they by no ability come back from.

Spontaneous generation of "life" could be possible - there is much about the universe that we do not understand.
