Scared enough to let the government take away all of our freedom for their empty promises of protection?

You are smart & right. We rush home from work & choke down our dinners watching the latest "terror" green, purple or poo colored terror alerts...wtf?

Meanwhile immigrants/others hired by airports
go thru personal belongs, stop grandmothers & let the nuts looking people right thru security.

We have given Haliburton & other shysters 500 billion dollars. For what? Do you feel any safer today? With that money, we could of had an employment program so divorced fathers could pay child support.

Think about it, we are all rational adults...using
a fifth grade word "terror." If one 59 year old lady has a yelling fit, then a Military Jet has to be scrambled & the commerical plane escorted.

Carrying toothpaste onboard an airplane has become a terroristic thing to do...we have become sissies. The only terrorist we have is the news media. The French have a term for his; The Phoney War. WW2.

During this "terror" times (since 2001) we have lost rights & our Constitution urinated on by both Liberals & King George. All in the name of "terror."

History is filled with exaggerated "terror" news used to justify invading countries. Japan, Germany + many other countries used same excuses for conquest.

I think everyone should be afraid of this terror. If the American troops were not over there fighting the Jihad and Saddam loyalists, we would be under attack in America. Also, Bin Ladin's group would be attacking us. It is not just the weapons of mass destruction, it is the people who want to blow America up. What freedom did the government take away from us? None. Their promises are not empty. Aren't you living in a nice house with food on your table, clothes on your back and go to school without being bombed?

When the American soldiers stopped to give candy to some little children in Iraq, the Muslims threw a bomb in the middle of the group and killed them. Aren't you glad you don't have to worry about that happening as much here as they do there? I think the government has kept their promises of as much protection of us as humanly possible. I don't know where you got the idea that their promises are empty. You're here and alive aren't you? How much did your new pair of sneakers cost you? That would probably buy food for a month for an Iraqi child or pay for a doctor's visit.

You just have to worry about what you are going to wear to the movies. You don't have to worry about where the next bomb is going to hit.

Think before you speak. Know what you are talking about before you make a statement.

I'm scared - scared that we're over-reacting!

It cost Queda half a million dollars to perform the 9/11 atrocity. In response, we spent a combined total of 500 billion dollars. Osama got a million-to-one pay off on his investment.

And one of his goals (and the goal of most asymmetric warfare) is to drive us bankrupt.

How many lives did that $500 billion save us? I don't know for sure, but if you had invested that sum in medical research, or making cars safer, etc., I'll bet you could have saved a few million people.

Maybe that $500 billion has saved 2000 lives - far fewer than if invested in other areas.

There is no such thing as complete safety from terrorism. You have to accept some level of risk, and apparently, for some people, that level will be determined when we are bankrupt.

I really don't know if terrorist or criminals with miltary type guns, that have out gunned police. Now in some areas the police have increased their "fire Power", Gun laws are a joke, who choosing a life of crime is going to buy a gun and register it??. Even dumb old me wouldn't, I'd steal the tools of my trade. Am I scared Yes, but not scared enough to support undue presidential powers, I believe division of power in our government.

The goal of terrorists is to terrorize. Make people paranoid, and turn them against thier own government.

Anyone who isn't a little nervous, is a fool. All of my freedom is NOT being taken away and they ARE protecting us as best they can.

They haven't taken away any freedoms yet. It appears you are the one who is scared without justification.
