Waaaaayyy back in 1969, Rachel Carson wrote a book called ,"Silent Spring." She detailed the effects on our environment of chlorinated hydrocarbons (insecticides such as DDT) and other widespread poisons.

Following this expose, numerous insecticides were banned or their use severely limited. Several other insecticides have been subsequently banned since.

The so called greener insect control products, although not harmless by any sense of the meaning, do not poison the environment or present as great a danger to our wildlife or ourselves as some of the earlier neuro toxins that were in common use - even to the point of widespread spraying from aircraft over thousands of acres of farmland - irregardless of which way the wind was blowing. The run off into streams and rivers and lakes was shown to be literally destroying our environment.

basically. haha, I found this when I typed Greener Insecticides. haha. :) cool. :D

basically, greener insecticides are insecticides that are supposedly organic; meaning organic in nature: the composition of this
insecticide is supposedly environmentally friendly; although there are still some debates about how "friendly" these insecticides are to the environment. It is made up of organic particles & compounds that are derived from plants and other organisms.

However: con-greener insecticiders believe that there is no such thing as an unharmful insecticide. If these insecticides are indeed not harmful as is claimed; well, they should not kill insects persay.
