This question continually arises. You MUST BEGIN in school plays and community theater productions. You must take acting workshops. You must know the right people in the business to even get your foot in the door. Most people never will. It is a tough business. It isn't WHAT you know it's WHO you know. You need to be represented by an agent, but cannot get one until you have some credits. All in all, the odds are against. you.. Again you must begin locally. You don't just run out to Hollywood and say hey, I want to be an actor. Most people out there who are in the business are waiting tables hoping for their chance which usually never comes. Oh yes, and you need the right "look" and acting talent. That's it, buddy. Good luck.

You must get your foot in the door first. Move to Hollywood and take on odd jobs like cleaning the place or serving coffee to the actors. Go to auditions and try out even if it seems hopeless.. get your face out there. Try to get into commercials...
From what I've heard, it's hard to make it. A lot of popular actors today start by scraping the bottom.

Take acting lessons for the next 5 or 6 years. Work on the soaps, get seen by talent agents when you do theater and hope they will want you as a client.

make a video that post it on youtube, be famous like the milkk and cereal guys then go from there
