I just got my period last night, after thinking was pregnant. But question is, I've heard that you can be pregnant and still have period. Is this true?
And....even though my period just started yesterday. My periods in the first few days it is really heavy. Well now this time it isn't heavy at all. Not much blood but lots of blood clots.

also my boobs feel fuller, like there is something heavy in them. They never feel like this when on period. If this even is a period.

If it's clotty, I'd go to the ER. You could be having a M/C
but to answer your Q yes, some women do have their periods while pregnant

Yes, some woman have gotten period and still have their period but it is rare. Spotting is more common but not with blod clots, this may be what you are experiencing. I know that your boobs start to tingle, feel full and sore because of them getting ready for milk production so you could be pregnant. Wait a few days and see if the bleedings stops. If it does, then take a HPT, but don't waste all your money. Wait for more signs like frequent urination, fatique and nausea. I learnt the hard way. I was a week late and during that week I took 3 tests and all negative then I finally got my period after 9 days late. But I had no other symptoms so I just wasted my money. Good luck if it's what you want...pregnancy.

I have had periods before that had small clots. However, if you thought you might be pregnant, then I would take a pregnancy test. If you are pregnant, this could be a sign of something serious, even the beginning of a miscarriage. If that's the case, you need to know so you know whether it fully expels on it's own. If it doesn't, a D&C is required. Left untreated could cause infection and infertility. I'm not trying to scare you, it's just that you should know for sure to prevent things from getting worse. If you are pregnant and having some spotting, your OB may want to give you progesterone to help nourish your uteral lining to prevent a miscarriage.

You can get your period and be pregnant. The "lots of clots" thing is concerning if you are pregnant. Large clots could mean miscarriage or tubal pregnancy. Sorry. You should take a hpt anyway and maybe go see your doctor.

I didn't know that I was with child until I was about 4 months along. I still had my cycle...I thought I just was sick from the flu that I was still getting over. I finally went in for a check up and I was 6 months!

Yes, it is not that uncommon to have your period during the first trimester. It would be wise to see the Dr. though and tell him/her about the clots.

You could be pregnant, why don't you take a home pregnancy test or better yet go to a doctor that way you can get a total check up. Hope you get well soon or congrats.

You may be right on this one and maybe pregnant also. This could be a feature of threatened abortion. Get yourself checked up and get your urine tested for HCG, which will either confirm or negate your pregnancy.
