First you have to narrow it down to the teams that actually have a chance of winning and how they are doing:

Czech Republic - They have a good chance if Baros, Koller, Rosicky and Cech are healthy, but it will be hard to fill Nedved's playmaking spot in midfield.

England - Full of world class players, but if you look at their poor performance in the Cup, you just don't know if they get things together. Their 5-0 blowout of Andorra means absolutely nothing because Andorra is like an English League Two team.

France - Losing your main playmaker in Zidane sucks, but they still have a lot of talent left. Hopefully Cisse will be healthy and help provide Henry with some goals.

Germany - All around awesome team. Good chance of winning it.

Greece - 2004 was just a good year for them. Won't happen again.

Italy - Tied to Lichtenstein? Great team but won't make it because I hate them and they are cheapasz diving b*tches.

Netherlands - Good team but will need to score more goals if they want to go far.

Portugal - All around great team. They lost Figo, but still have mad talent with Deco and Ronaldo.

Spain - Lots of good scorers with David Villa and Torres and great fielders such as Puyol and Fabregas. But will have to play better than in the Cup.

Ukraine - Yes, they have Shevchenko, but don't have the playmakers to feed him scoring chances, so they won't get far.

In the end I think Portugal will win it. They got to the final last time and have been getting better and better, as can be seen in the World Cup. They also have the best all around team. Great goalkeeper in Ricardo (not to mention awesome pk stopper), a solid defense, great midfield playmakers/finisher in Ronaldo and Deco, and their striker Pauleta can always find the net.

Brazil's coach is previous college. Spain is far overvalued in UEFA. of course; Mexico will beat Italy, Brazil, and Japan; they at the instant are not that solid even nonetheless if Italy are quantity #a million of their WCQ group. Spain are way too solid to win the Confederations Cup, yet Mexico gained the Confederations Cup earlier in 1999 so we will win because of the fact we are the main favorites in CONCACAF regardless of if we tie; that's purely a sport and that's important for us to win a Confederations Cup and a Gold Cup. we will see. Brazil has Felipao, an previous-college coach. overwhelmed by ability of England 2-a million in Wembley Stadium. nevertheless, Mexico will win in the event that they conflict very complicated to beat Italy.

i think it will be portugal. they have a great corp of players and i'm still surprised they lost in the world cup.
i think italy will be like greece was at euro 2002. one hit wonders. they had a great run but it won't sustain.
ukraine is still not a complete team. they'll compete but not for the whole thing.
england is a wait and see. the steve mclaren era is just starting and it depends on who emerges as the top striker. if mclaren is smarter than sven and actually uses peter crouch i think england can be deadly.
france is also in transition. it's not clear who will replace zidane in midfield.
my pick is portugal. i think they're due for a big win.

If they are going to preserve all that wonderful skill of football and spirit they have shown us on the world cup I think the German team has got a big chance of winning the upcoming Euro 2008.

France. Even without Zidane. Henry, a healthy Cisse, and Trezeguet provide many scorers. Not to mention Riberry is only getting better and better.
But dont count England out, Young players like Walcott, Bent, and Rooney provide many scoring options for them, and they are all improving every year as well. Im rooting for England. Even without my man Becks!
