For those of you who do not understand my question, I'm asking we control our realities/lives/whatever... or are we meerly part of a bigger dream in which we have no control...

It's called Solipsism. The theory that nothing exists outside our own minds. We are at the mercy of our own senses. We have no information that is not filtered through our senses.

In some dreams, the dreamer is the dream; but some Asian philosophers say that enlightenment can come at any time to anyone.
Every time I learn how a magician does one of his tricks, I wish to myself I didn't know. Be careful what you ask for.

Seems the farther you peer into space, the bigger reality becomes.
But perhaps a thing is itself.

I think both perhaps? I am thinking a lot here right now, and honestly...I do not have all the answers. hehe Interesting how we look for so many answers, yet...we do not as a whole people in the world have all the answers; only God does. But I am in a very contemplative mood tonight, so bear with me a moment as I get to my point...

I think both because we are God's dream. We are His greatest creation. And to the flipside of that, we are to fulfill the dreams His instills in us for our happiness; and for His Glory and Kingdom. For to fulfill the dreams He gives us, fulfills His dream even greater. It is a great circle of life. :)

If I made no sense, I apologize. Again, contemplative here right now.

Good philosophical question! Depends on which philosophy you would like to take. If you say we are the dream than you are probably Christian atleast with Christian values.

But in any stretch of the imagination we are deffinently dreamers. "Willy Wonka said in the original one :"...we are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams..." I tend to agree with him!

hmm a good subject. coming from a nonmainstream viewpoint, not of my own. an interesting senario.

Scientist believe that there are wormholes stacked one on top of another so much so that there are exact duplicates and exact opposites as our own. therefar it would not be hard to say that there are dimensions that are mirror immages of our story, like star wars, and in this case would george lucas be God? terrifing yes. This being said, could it also not be said that our lives are those imagined up by some author, that we clame is a God. interesting no?

Uh, that makes no sense, We are dreamers more than a dream. A dream is fiction in the human mind, we are humans, it is contradictory.

I think we must be the dream- were certainly fading echoes of a central original creative event, so we must be the dream.
