first off why delay?
go to the courts ask for an adjornment, because you will be out of town on business and you can't get out of it. Usually they grant it, but it is usually just for the following month

I am recently divorced. First of all, you best have an attorney. In a family law case, they don't have to provide you with one. Unless you have a very good reason, a continuance is your only bet, and it is up to the judge whether or not to grant you one. I know you don't want to be there, but you really don't have a choice. Make damn sure you have all the evidence needed before you go to the court, because once it's final, you can't enter new evidence later. It's best to just get it done and over with, even though you don't want to go through with it.

Depends on your state and your attorney you have to have a good reason to delay it and if its for a B.S. A S S reason the judge will eventually get tired of you and grant the divorce whether you're there or not also why are you trying to delay it are you doing it out of spite or do you want your spouse back.

Why would you want to delay it? Just get it done and over with.

Call your lawyer and tell him to get a continuance. He can reschedule to a better date.
