I know female teachers of teen or young adult boys are only human, they must get aroused but must not show it. When I was in school I had intense crushes on my female teachers. I just wondered how female teachers deal with it.

The same way we male teachers deal with it... we are professionals wanting to help children learn. We are NOT looking for relationships nor do we want to jeopardize our careers. Every now and then, some teacher somewhere crosses the line and the media covers it coast-to-coast... that's because it's UNUSUAL, and not a regular occurrence.

As a female teacher I can tell you that I have NEVER gotten aroused at school because of a student. It's just WRONG! If a male student acted as if he had a crush on me, I would try everything to make it stop. I would also talk to the counselor, so that perhaps they could have a chat about why the student is in school. Stop watching Jay Leno...he likes to perpetuate this myth almost every night.

I taught high school with only a 5-8 age difference between me and the kids and there was no arousal. They know what lines not to cross and if they did there were consequences. The age difference caused more of a problem then anything.

Can't say I get aroused, but the little teen boys have tried to flirt with me and have said inappropriate things at times. There was a time where I laid down the law and threatened a referral with righteous indignation, but now I just use a little sarcasm and brush it off. That way they still get attention (and some of them just need an adult who notices them), but they understand where the boundaries are.

generally they perform hand release on the more attractive males. if the teenager boy is not attractive the child is ignored as he is ignored by the rest of the class. if the female teacher is particularly attractive she will sometimes take on two at a time, or three if she is particularly talented in the oral arena.

You are confusing teachers with pedophiles. We get in to the teaching profession to impart knowledge. Those few that make the news because of inappropriate interactions with students have gotten into teaching for the wrong reason and need to be permanently removed from their positions.

My students do not arouse me. I have been a teacher for 8 years and never felt a sexual attraction for my students. Sorry to disappoint you.

What about male teachers too? There are some girls who come onto male teachers, especially young teachers in high school who are good looking. Male teachers deal with it by simply showing no interest whatsoever, and remaining professional. They are professionals you know. But every once in a while, some male teacher messes up, and gets involved. Very poor in my opinion.

That's ridiculous. In 27 years of teaching I have never had the slightest thought in that direction. I have never heard another teacher refer to that even jokingly.
