Just start off small first, maybe trying out for a play at your school and work your way up from there. Face it, there's no way you can get to where you want to go if you're in this situation and have no talent either. I suggest that you search for an agent anyways, you just have to be smart and have common sense and good instincts. DON'T GIVE THE AGENT MONEY AT ALL!! Even if they ask. This will help keep you safe from scams. If they think that you are really good and that you can make it, than they will find you a job. If you get that job, than the agent gets part of your money. That's how it works, so be on the lookout for those agents who ask for money. Since agents look for the best of the best, as of right now, you should focus on learning to act well. Even try developing skills that you see a lot of actors have (musical, dance, gymnastics, voice projection, voice imitation, maybe even learning how to cry on cue or how to make really good face expressions.) And you mustn't be shy, try out for EVERYTHING that you think will help you (you'll need the experience)!

Your situation sounds a lot like the situation I was in when I was younger, but I changed my mind after finding out that it just wasn't for me...if this is truly what you want and you think there isn't anything else you'd rather do more in the world than definitely go for it...but be aware that you may change your mind in the future...

A lot of adult actors did not become famous as young people. They may have performed in school, in local community theater. And a lot of child or teen actors do not end up being actors when they grow up. So don't worry so much about having a career or an agent right now. Try to find local opportunities to perform through your school or in your town or city. Go to auditions and accept whatever roles you can get, even small ones. Investigate colleges and learn which ones have good theater departments. Be prepared to work hard and make sure you develop other marketable skills as well, because many actors have to do other work while they are trying to become successes in their chosen field.

Wait until you are old enough to take acting classes. After a few years of singing and acting classes, join the theater department in high school. By that time you can decide if you still want to be an actor. Forget about getting an agent. Take acting classes. If you want to be on television you have to be able to compete with the actors your age, who have been acting for many, many years.

Ask your parents to help you find acting classes. They can call the community theaters in your city for suggestions on acting schools.

Calmmm down chica! Relax, breathe. Ok first of all if this is your hearts desire I suggest attending an acting school. There are so many benefits. You need to network. You're parents might not back you up in this but they will let you follow your heart. That you must do. It is not an easy business to get into and serious agents look at experience, knowledge, etc. So you need to perfect the talent you already have and learn the game. There are many books on the subject...check it out. Good luck and always keep your dream alive.

Start where you are. Get involved in drama at your school or church. Explore this as you can where you are now. Every school puts on plays, every town has it's own theater community.

If you are determined, you can progress toward paid work. But be aware that many great actors never are recognized financially or with fame in their lifetimes. Many actors can never pay the bills acting. They wait tables and do odd jobs in between acting gigs.

Pursue your dreams, but in the meanwhile, don’t give up your “day job.”

As a 14 year old, your “day job” is school. Give yourself to school. EVERYTHING you learn there, academically, socially, artistically, physically, will serve your ambitions as an actor.

I would look into what you really want.

Do you want to act and sing or do you want to be famous like zac efron... who by the way is 19 years old.

If what you love to do is perform than I suggest looking into colleges that you would like to go to. Even though you are young, you can still go around and search for scholarships that will help you pay for school.
Drama camp in general is more for rich kids who don't want to be told that they are being baby-sat for a summer.
You do not need money to be an actor, but you do need patience.

Get an education first. You will need that because only a tiny percentage of those who want it actually get a career in show biz. Is there a theater group in your town? If so, find out how you can be a member. Take drama courses in HS and college. Go to try-outs and learn to sing and dance. An actress needs many skills to succeed.

how old are you? 14 ? may be you could join grammar club in your school if they do have a club and be sure that you have all the skills to be an actor as you said. Your teachers would test about your performent if they want to test you and may be they would train you for better skills and introduce you to some directors . This is just what i think. Ask your parents about this?

Perhaps you could work out a deal with your mom where you can work for chores, and she can get you some pictures taken by a photographer who specializes in modeling pictures, and shop them around to reputable companies. Having pictures is a must nowadays, I was lucky enough to be picked out by a photographer when I was about 6, and was able to do some modeling, but this happens less often now, and I was in CA. But anyway, I would try to see if you could bargain with your mom, and really work hard for what you want. Good luck sweetie.

hi
what i would do is not start you career just yet. take some classes, get involved with you school plays and theater arts, and get a degree in acting from a great theater arts college. then go in head first if you want.

enjoy your childhood while you can cause you only get one. i've heard of to many "younger" actors getting in to trouble because the grow up in the spot light.
