I think that its a stretch of the imagination to liken ourselves with gods or goddesses. No, women wouldnt like it (especially feminists).

I actually had wished this was an intelligent question that was posted here.
Then I saw it and my brain actually started to funtion. Thank Goddess for that!
Just look at some of the "major" extremeist religions in the world that dictate oppressive doctrine.
When was the last time you heard the Catholic or Christian, Jewish and Islamic religions granting women the same godlike attributes as men? Oh that's right, the things we must attribute to be are wh0res, virgins, b*tches and sinners. That is, quite obviously, our destiny.............................................. I think not.
The 'second' that women even attempt to show their Goddess, we have people like yourself, catering to patriarchy and trying to knock women down-yet again.
You speak of "equality" but the equality you speak of is for the gender who is already Mohammed/Allah/God(Father and Son) while overlooking the oppression that us women face on a daily basis.
We try to reclaim our power, say we can be enlightened beings as well and here you are asking Ignorant questions pertaining to men's "Equality".
How's this for men's equality :: Woman have AT THE VERY LEAST 'adopted' the notion that even GOD can be a woman. Why not men embracing their inner Goddess as woman have accepted their inner God?
God can be a woman.
Goddess can be a man.
God can be a man.
Goddess can be a woman.
So, you must ask yourself, is your question heterosexist?
(Big Yes).
I'll be over here with my eyes open while you sit over there with yours closed.

The reason why advertisers portray women as goddesses and superwomen and unfeasibly brilliant, clever, perfect etc is because women are the gender within the family unit that spend most of the money. It works like this, An advertiser wants women to buy their product so they portray women as brilliant and men as stupid and women are dumb enough to believe that patronising bullshit and then they buy the product.

They don't just portray women as goddesses, they portray men as bumbling idiots who couldn't get up if it wasn't for their woman. Why is it that if guys don't wear perfume and designer cloths they are portrayed as inept.
If men were treated as gods, there would be a huge uproar.
Let's fix this.

Yes, I think women are goddesses and men are gods but I don't think most women would know equality if it came up and bit them on the ***. The whole "my way or the highway" attitude is not equality, it's childist and selfish. Most women I know are manipulative and think the sun rises and sets on them. I guess most men are the same way although they don't play near as many mind games. We put them in their places when they act like jerks. Maybe they should put us in ours.

I would be happy to see advertisements that showed a hidden "god" within each man.
They could be handled with taste and wit ... hey, wait a minute, this is the advertising industry!

Huh, interesting point. I see the dichotomy you speak of, and I would have to agree, there would be a huge up roar if a commercial started to refer to men as gods in a serious tone.
Good call.
