basketball has become a corporate thingamajiggy, as with all other organized sporting event. Althletes are way overpriced and hyped and come out way too short on delivery. Tend to think they do it for the money and endorsements, rather than for the love of the game!

Both The United States basketball is getting worse, and we are probably sending the wrong talent. We need to send players who want to play as a team

No!! Team USA is not getting worse.. and yeah were sending the right talent..
Its just that. International players have learned how to play basketball and can compete in the level of how the Team USA play.
And yeah FIBA International rules also is different from the NBA rules..
Team USA had to do some adjustments.. and International Basketball use the FIBA rules.. Their good at it, So no adjustment needed for them..
Try playing us in our rules.. We'll defeat the worlds by a blowout..

Good question. The pros we are sending are great individual talents, but the teamwork and knowledge of the international game seem to be lacking. Maybe the Florida Gators would have done better because they played together all year. Maybe the Miami Heat would have done better for the same reason. Sending our NBA champion to play would probably get the job done. I don't think that is likely however.

I dont think usa basketball is getting worse the international basketball is getting better plus the usa had alot of players drop out do to injury or personal issues if they had paul pierce,kobe bryant,lomar odom,gilbert arenas,Chauncey Billups,Shawn Marion,Michael Redd,and Amare Stoudemire they would of won the gold easy.

NO, because the USA team don't get a Pure 3 point shooters like Michael Reed of the bucks or ray allen of the sonics and they don't have a good defensive player like ben wallace BUT IF offense The US team don't lack bacause they have Lebron,Wade,Carmelo.

They've the talent, but not the heart.
Half the time, they get pummeled by opponents from beyond the arc but they still didn't try to shut down the outside men.

I dont think there is anything wrong with US Basketball. I think the rest of the world is getting better. Just like with all of sports.

The USa BAsketball team has won most of the games and the team is full of gud players like lebron james, wade, anthony and other superstars. the team is playin like a team....

All US pro sport suck because of outrageous salaries the primadona jerks demand. And, of course the American fool fans keep paying the outrageous ticket prices.
I would loose one moment of sleep if there were no more pro sports.
