It is Jill Marie Jones (Toni Childs) I can't believe she is leaving the show. It is not going to be the same without her. I don't know if they will replace her or not but rumor has it that this will be the last season for the show. It is really sad. This will be the 7th season. But Jill will not be playing an exit role or anything this time around. Pretty sad after so many years she is leaving. Maybe she'll come back. They are saying it has to do with money but I don't know about that. Something could have really happened for her to leave all that hard work. She is a really good actress and is really good for the show. Hope she comes back.

Jill Marie Jones recently quite in the role of Toni Childs-Garrett. In may, it was confirmed that she left Girlfriends due to a contract dispute. She has made her film debut in a film called Redrum.
Also, the original cast of Girlfriends included actresses Christina Cox and Leslie Silva in the roles of Lynn and Toni respectively, who left the production, because of which some parts of the first episode were reshot to include Persia White and Jill Marie Jones. Girlfriends was picked up for a full season after the ratings success of the first 13 episodes, according to rave reviews about the show's content in 2000.
Very few story elements of the unaired pilot were later changed. Notable examples are the fact that Joan is preparing to make partner at her law firm; she hires Maya as her assistant; and her friends set out to find her a man.

Jill Marie Jones quit? Toni was my favorite character! I didn't even know the show had been having probnlems. That is a shame too. Oh well, the show was going in the wrong direction anyway after they made Toni divorce Todd, and then broke up Joan and William.

OMG, I didn't even know that someone quit. I sure hate to hear that it was Jill. I love her part in this show. Glad you ask the question though.
