How many months of work experience is required of Filipino nurses to work in the US?

I am from the Philippines and currently working as a nurse for a private hospital.. What is the minimum period of work expereince required for me to be able to apply for work in hospitals in the US? Or is there a need of experience?

I've known a number of nurses who've come to the States in recent years, and there's no minimum work requirement to apply for work. Those nursing schools who insist on those 2-yr contracts do so in order to not lose their investment in their students, as well as try to stem the brain drain from the Philippines to other countries. If these RN grads don't leave right away, the thinking goes, they may end up settling down and not try to apply to get out.
