The main reason for M/C are chromosome problems.
Every woman is different so it is hard to say why it takes some of us so long to conceive. I am going on 3 and a half years with 2 M/C in between. Some women are luckier than others....

It seems like young girls who don't want to have a baby can get pregnant so easy and others try and try for years and don't get pregnant. I had a miscarriage and after had 2 kids and very normal healthy pregnancies. Although I was only 6 weeks along, it was very hard. It's also hard not to second guess yourself and wonder "Is it something I did?" Believe me- if you could cause a miscarriage women who didn't want to be pregnant would "cause" themselves to abort the baby instead of having a doctor perform an abortion. There is also nothing to prevent having a miscarriage, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier.

I think a big part of the problem is woman wait too long to get pregnant and then it's too late. When we start our period at say 12 years old, our bodies are saying "Ok! It's time for me to have a baby!" Although this is very socially unacceptable, when most women start trying in their mid twenties, they are more than 10 years past their prime! A lot of "normal" women look at these celebrity moms who get pregnant at older ages without realizing that these women probably shelled out $20,000 for invitro fertilization.

My best advise- you have your whole life to have a career- after you get married start trying to have a baby. After my mom died it made me realize that the sooner you have your kids, the longer you get to be with them.

No one really knows why it takes some people without fertility problems longer than other people. Think of it though, it's a miracle that ANYONE gets pregnant at all. The egg has to develop just right before it is released into the abdomen, yes the abdomen, because the Fallopian tube is not connected to the ovary. Then this egg finds it's way to the Fallopian tube somehow and has to be fertilized, usually, before it is more than 1/3 if the way through the tube by a sperm that has somehow found it's way to it; and that's just the start. Now thinking of all the things that must go right, if one little thing, especially at the beginning of this process, goes wrong; it can be the cause of a miscarriage.

There are so many factors that go into getting pregnant. Everything from proper ovulation to the heat of the sperm, to the position of the sex, or even the time of the month or day.

Many things can cause a miscarriage. Trauma to the abdomen or excessive alcohol or drugs are common "self induced" methods of miscarriages. A friend of mine had two miscarriages that were the result of the fetus not receiving enough nutrients/blood due to a problem with the umbilical cord. (It has since been corrected and she has two beautiful children).

The biggest problem with getting pregnant is stress. When you are "Trying" it puts stress on both partners and lowers the sperm count for him and reduces ovulation in her.
Some tips that sometimes help is:
For Her:
1. (For Her)If you are underweight gain 10 lbs, if you are overweight lose 10 lbs (not sure why this works but it usually gets the ovaries going)
2. Go do the Honeymoon thing again. Try not to think about getting pregnant for that weekend/week just do something that you enjoy together. (if you are in the mood have fun). The reduction in stress will help both of you with making a baby.
3.(For Him) No Hot showers or baths, no tight under-ware, If he bicycles alot or sits on a motorcycle a lot, try not riding for 2 weeks.

Miscarriages:
There are many causes. Sometimes the fetus does not divide properly and the body does not think it will come to term, so your body will remove it so it can wait for a fetus that will make it to term.
Falls is another cause of miscarriages.
Stress
Failure to implant into the wall of the uterus (that usually happens around 8 to 12 wks of pregnancy)
STD's
Drugs
some Herbs/ supplements
Unhealthy diet (if your body does not think it can sustain both your body and a growing baby it will chose you over the baby)

Hormones, stress, diet, and just general environmental factors can effect the ability to get pregnant. It can take up to a year for a healthy couple to conceive. I can't speak for all miscarriages, but I had one due to lack of progesterone.

every one is different, sometimes it happens on one try, sometimes it happens on 20. but i can tell you from a scientific survey point of veiw, that boys take longer to become pregnant with, and miscarriages happen for a bunch of different reasons. sometimes the body just rejects it, sometimes it doesnt form correctly and dies right away, sometimes it doesnt get what it needs.... it just goes on and on, no one knows what really causes a miscarriage, it just happens

perhaps the women and their mates are just not compatable in the fit and fissure department and maybe God just doesn't want them to breed.

Miscarriages are accidents that destroy the fetus and really mess up the woman's mind. They are usually caused by something being wroing with the fetus and is a self abortion
