You MUST sign up for a new one, because the companies are not going to try to inform the other people that you have changed your email address, because it will take forever and its too complicated and signing up for a new one is simplier.

If it's a webserver like Yahoo or Hotmail, just get a new one; you can let the old one die...or you can keep both. I have about 5 or 6. One for my business, one for a bulletin board I own, one for my recreation, one for my family & friends, one for things like job hunting, bill paying etc.
Or if you have a server like Netscape, AOL, Earthlink, etc., they'll let you have x-number of email addresses free, and more for a small fee.
