Actually, NYC is a very liberal city. It's just that democrats are more open minded than reptiles, er, republicans

Definitely NOT!! I'm a New Yorker from upstate, and they are extremely liberal. The Governor, George Pataki, came in after Mario Cuomo who was ruining the state. Pataki, while lacking in many areas including personality, at least is going to leave the state with a budget surplus for the first time in about forever. Mike Bloomburg, the Mayor, is considered by many to be a liberal republican, myself included. One of the main reasons he got elected in the first place was he got an endorsement from Rudy Giuliani, who is like gold in this city. He did a fantastic job after 9-11. I hope he runs for a federal office - he's got my vote.

New York City does not have a governor, New York State has a governor. And if New Yorkers are conservatives, how did Hillary Clinton become a US Senator for NY?

No. Most New York Republicans wouldn't pass as that in the rest of the country. Mayor Bloomberg only became a Republican shortly before running for mayor.
To quote Woody Allen in "Annie Hall": Don't you see the rest of the country looks upon New York like we're left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers? I think of us that way sometimes and I live here.

Doh !
Senators Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton.
The city is represented in the House by a total of 13 congresspeople, 12 of whom are liberal Democrats and there's only 1 Republican.

THe Governor won because people were sick of the last and he didn't win big in NYC, he won in the suburbs. The mayor is a very moderate republican and would have gone democrat if he could have won the ticket.

NYC is one of the richest places on earth.
Ever hear of the Stock Exchange?
Where there is money, there are Republicans.
Money ALWAYS trumps liberalism/conservatism.
Geez, what country are you from to even ask?
