Would you please use your edit button and be a little clearer about what you are talking about. If you mean the history button on the tool bar at the top of your browser, that is an optional button. Simply click view, go to toolbars, then across and down to customize. A window will open which says "Customize toolbar". On the right side will be all the icons that you currently have on your toolbar. Find the History button, click on it and then click remove and presto it should be gone.

Your better option is to got to "Options" at the top of Internet Explorer, and go to Internet Options.
From there on the "General" tab, under "Browsing history" hit Delete.
(This is suited to Internet Explorer 7, but should work with older versions)

With cyber web Explorer open, you click on the kit menu, and bypass to cyber web innovations. on the final tab there might desire to be a button for deleting surfing history which will open a window with extra particular innovations. it rather is, of direction, assuming you're utilising IE7.

Sounds to me like your history has been blocked from deleting. Are you young and are your parents controlling your computer surfing? If that is the case then you can't delete the history until it is unblocked.
Hope that helps.
